Outback Steakhouse Singapore

Over the weekend, I had the opportunity to have a sumptuous dinner at Outback Steakhouse at their Millenia Walk restaurant! (Outback Steakhouse Singapore also have another outlet located over at Orchard Gateway)

This was my first time eating at Outback Steakhouse and I couldn’t wait to try the food on their brand new menu!

My first impression was just how huge the steak knives were! And the food portions? Even bigger!

When we sat down, the wait staff brought over a loaf of bread and butter, all made by Outback Steakhouse Singapore themselves! Pretty impressive and cool.

They took our drink orders, and I got the Long Island Iced Tea. My fellow foodie mentioned that they couldn’t taste the alcohol, which I agreed. The beverage tasted more like lemonade than the classic drink, but I ain’t complaining – at least I didn’t have to embarrass myself by turning a shade of lobster red. The drink is nevertheless, quite delicious :)

For starters, we had a big variety of appetisers to choose from Outback Steakhouse Singapore’s new look menu – Shrimp and Avocado Ceviche, Crispy Chicken Bites, Crispy Fried Mushrooms, and BBQ Pulled Pork Fries!

For mains, the new menu offers: The Porterhouse, Steak and Shrimp Skewers, Black Peppercorn Crusted Ribeye, Garlic Glazed Pork Loin, and Steak Pomodoro Pasta!

And for dessert, we shared the Chocolate Thunder From Down Under :) The name is so cute!

BBQ Pulled Pork Fries, $14.90 (Full), $10.90 (Half)

Outback Steakhouse Singapore

This is definitely my favourite appetiser on Outback Steakhouse Singapore’s new menu, and it tastes even better than it looks!

The chunky fries paired with melt-in-your-mouth pulled pork, smoky BBQ sauce, melted cheesy goodness, pico de gallo (fresh salsa), and ranch dressing is truly heavenly!

*Make sure to order the full portion, you won’t regret it! :)
** You can order the half portion, but only if you’re on a diet

Shrimp and Avocado Ceviche, $14.90

Can’t get enough of avocado? Then you gotta order this side. To translate the fanciful sounding name, this appetiser is essentially shrimp, avocado, onions, tomatoes, cilantro marinated in a lime juice, with a generous helping of jalapeño peppers, corn tortilla chips, and a refreshing lime wedge!

Crispy Chicken Bites, $10.90

Outback Steakhouse Singapore

Next, we tried these crispy chicken bites (and couldn’t resist with having someone pose as a hand model with the chicken bites)! These scrumptious chicken morsels are hand-battered and served with a classic New Orleans sauce. The sauce is tangy and spicy, just like the classic.

Crispy Fried Mushrooms, $13.90

Outback Steakhouse Singapore

This dish got the seal of approval from the other foodies! They commented that the crispy mushroom appetiser is really good. Mushrooms are very lightly breaded and then fried and dip it with the ranch dressing for a dose of yummy mushroom goodness!

Steak and Shrimp Skewers, $39.90

Outback Steakhouse Singapore

Now on to the mains – I really liked this dish, as it has something for everyone! Perfect for picky eaters like me, and for the indecisive foodies. If you can’t decide between land and sea, then you should order this dish at Outback Steakhouse Singapore! It has the best of both worlds! I love the tender, well-cooked USDA steak skewers with the flavourful flame-grilled red onions and bell peppers. So, so, so good. It also comes with Outback’s delicious lemon butter, and a bed of yummy rice pilaf! I like how Outback Steakhouse Singapore included healthy carbs and salad with this creation! :) They really take into consideration the diversity in the diets of their customers!

Garlic Glazed Pork Loin, $25.90

Outback Steakhouse Singapore

Doesn’t the pork look so good? This pork loin is well-seasoned and comes with lemon garlic, grilled veggies, and whole grain mustard sauce! The pork comes in a very generous cut, so you can really savour all the juiciness of the meat. It’s also great for families because it has carbs, protein and veggies rolled into one dish!

Steak Pomodoro Pasta, $24.90

Outback Steakhouse Singapore

In two words, this pasta entree is homely and perfect. At first blush, the shape looks like nothing out of the ordinary, right? But it’s actually a lot longer than your typical pasta! Called “cavatappi”, the pasta really absorbs the flavour of the yummy slow-cooked pomodoro pasta sauce. The pasta goes beautifully with the tasty steak, and is complemented with fragrant basil and the salty Parmesan. Yum! Order this if you’re a fan of tomato-based pasta and crave something both delicious and comforting to fill your belly with. (Even our host could tell you just how much I loved this pasta dish!)

Black Peppercorn Crusted Ribeye, $37.90

Outback Steakhouse Singapore

Steak lovers rejoice! You definitely can’t go wrong with this peppercorn ribeye steak! Everyone agreed this is the best choice of mains on Outback’s new menu. The ribeye steak is encrusted with plenty of peppercorn, and grilled to perfection. Comes with tender asparagus, baked loaded potato, and balsamic sauce. It’s really a steal and worth every penny. So good! Do make sure to order this beefy goodness when you’re at Outback Steakhouse Singapore.

Loyalty Card Promotions

Outback Steakhouse Singapore

By now, you may be wondering, are there any promotions?

Well, if you sign up as a loyalty card member, the loyalty card comes at a price of $40, BUT before you recoil in horror, the loyalty card comes with a cash voucher worth $40 to use on your next visit to Outback Steakhouse Singapore.

Plus, you get a 15% discount every time you visit Outback, which I think is a really generous deal – and where can you even get such great discounts nowadays! Totally worth it! And on your birthday month, you can enjoy a free entree, OR 30% off the total bill, exclusive of alcoholic drinks. Sounds like a pretty sweet deal to me! :)

The Porterhouse, $45.90

Outback Steakhouse Singapore

Not gonna lie, I was eyeing the corn the entire time! :) You can choose two freshly prepared sides to go with your USDA strip and filet tenderloin steak. The portions are super generous and huge (American style) which is perfect for sharing with family and friends! Order this if you’re a big meat eater. Or simply wanna give everything on the menu a try. Go for it and share this Porterhouse steak!

Chocolate Thunder From Down Under, $14.90

Outback Steakhouse Singapore

Like I said earlier, I love the generous portions here at Outback Steakhouse. This here is the famous Chocolate Thunder From Down Under – a deliciously nutty, warm pecan brownie (!!!) topped with a rich and creamy vanilla bean ice cream, drizzled with Outback’s very own original chocolate sauce, a dollop of whipped cream and chocolate ganache! Delicious.

Outback Steakhouse Singapore

After having tried practically everything on Outback’s new menu, I can safely say go visit Outback Steakhouse Singapore with your family and loved ones! You won’t be disappointed :) The new menu has something for everyone, and the food is cooked just right! Portions are generous, service is great, ambiance is really homely and welcoming, and the food is superrrr filling!! Plus the prices are reasonable and won’t create a dent in your wallet. So yes, do go for a meal with family and friends at Outback Steakhouse and try out their brand new menu offerings. Happy feasting! :)

Handmade in small batches, Suga Lush is dedicated to making these beautiful smelling, all natural shower products that revitalises the senses after a long day.

It’s pretty obvious but I think living in a city has resulted in being constantly exposed to grubby air, constantly having to be on the ball and on top of things, and always having some pressing message or email or urgent phone call to reply! So for me, shower time is my time away from my responsibilities, from the hectic chaos, aka life, and a quiet time I have all to myself to really do absolutely nothing and enjoy it.

SAMSUNG CSC

As someone who really treasures showers, I love how these lovely Suga Lush soaps bring me a sense of calm in the shower. It’s just so nice to relax and unwind for a while!

Vetiver & Grapefruit Body Soap

SAMSUNG CSC

This colourful Suga Lush soap really surprised me, despite the bright orangey hues, and the fact it contains moisturising honey, this soap is anything but artificial or fruity smelling.

What you have here is a really earthy, vetiver soap. This cool, vibrant soap is perfect if you like woody, spicy, or musky scents!

The rich, creamy lather in this bar will have you feeling brand new and clean. The fragrance is pretty gender-neutral and I can’t help but admire the pretty whirls in this unique Suga Lush soap!

Doesn’t this pretty violet soap look like an amethyst?

If you’re a fan of lavender, you’re in for a treat. You’ll definitely like this distinctively lavender soap.

This special soap brings back fond memories of exploring the lavender fields in Cotswold, UK. This soap really smells like lavender-filled air. I’ld recommend this to anyone who has great, impeccable taste and enjoys the finer things in life!

SAMSUNG CSC

Containing a blend of coconut oil and cocoa butter, this no-nonsense soap is non-drying and will leave your skin soft and moisturised. The perfect soap for the busy folk who see showers as an opportunity to unwind.

Mint Green Tea Body Soap (fourth in the photo below)

I like this solid soap for its natural and pepperminty fresh scent. The shea butter in this soap will keep your skin nice, dewy and soft. If you’re a fan of citrus, fresh scents, I’ld say this is the soap for you. The cool, crisp flavour is perfect, and pairs well with morning showers!

This jade-coloured mint soap from Suga Lush will have you feeling bright eyed and bushy tailed in the morning and ready for a brand new day!

Happy Hippie Salt Bar (third one in the picture above)

Unlike the other Suga Lushsoap bars above, this one is a body scrub in a bar!

Packed with plenty of essential oils and sea salt, this is the best exfoliant to keep in the shower.

SAMSUNG CSC

The sea salt in the Happy Hippie Salt Bar means that the soap suds are more creamy than your regular soap, and this salt bar won’t be abrasive on your skin!

Add this Suga Lush salt bar to your bath routine and you’ll be guaranteed to have nice silky smooth skin again in no time. No more dry skin! :)

SAMSUNG CSC

Classified Cafe

Not that long ago, someone asked me for a recommendation for brunch places in Singapore.

At that point in time, I couldn’t think of an answer.

After visiting 101 Jalan Sultan, I’ve finally found it – Classified Cafe!

SAMSUNG CSC

Located at The Sultan Hotel, Classified Cafe is a great place to have a hearty Sunday brunch with the family.

The Sultan Hotel is a gorgeous, traditional white Singapore townhouse, a globetrotter’s dream stay. The hotel is also notably well preserved from a bygone era.

On the pristine white walls are framed “before and after” renovation photographs capturing the beauty of the timeless building.

The majestic Sultan Hotel is quite unlike any other in Singapore.

SAMSUNG CSC

Considering it has 64 guest rooms with no two rooms alike, The Sultan is bigger than it looks!

Great for staycationers and tourists alike, the ambiance and decor of the whole place is impressive and the epitome of class.

I would definitely put it down on my list of staycation-worthy hotels in Singapore. Y’know, for a temporary air ticket-free getaway from reality.

Classified Cafe kindly invited me down for a food tasting session one weekend, and spoiled me silly with their numerous breakfast options.

I decided to sit in the lobby where there was plenty of sunshine, and really beautiful furniture I wish I could bring home! (The acacia table was my favourite.)

Classified Cafe really ticked all of the boxes with their food, impeccable service, and dining atmosphere.

Let’s have a peek at their brunch menu! (Honestly, if I could I would order everything…)

CLASSIFIED 13

Classified Cafe let me try out their Eggs on Cloud and Eggs Benedict with Smoked Salmon & Avocado.

I also ordered Mac and Cheese and a vanilla milkshake. The staff were happy to customise my milkshake order, which was very nice of them!

Eggs on Cloud [S$14.90]
Turkey bacon bits, chives, and mozzarella cheese folded into lightly whisked egg whites, served with toasted brioche

SAMSUNG CSC

SAMSUNG CSC

I really liked the presentation of the Eggs on Cloud. Don’t the eggs look like little clouds? The slate plating was also very cool.

Taste-wise, the eggs on cloud was really fluffy, airy and delicious. Kind of how you would imagine a savoury cloud to taste like.

The slight sweetness of the brioche was a nice, welcome change from the typical plain white toasted bread you get at coffeeshops. As for the bed of rocket salad hidden beneath the eggs on cloud, it was really fresh and full of a mild spicy flavour.

Eggs Benedict with Smoked Salmon and Avocado [S$14.90]
Poached egg, smoked salmon, homemade hashbrown, avocado, red and yellow cherry tomatoes, rocket, hollandaise sauce

SAMSUNG CSC

To me, the highlight of this breakfast dish was the HASH BROWNS. I’ve never had hash browns this amazing in my life before. I couldn’t stop eating and the addiction to the hash browns was real. If there was one reason to come back to Classified Cafe, the crispy, flavourful hash browns would be the answer!

The avocado wasn’t soft and ripe and instead quite crunchy. But this happens to the best of us I guess! Like for example, the other day the avocado I prepared at home for guacamole turned out to be unevenly ripe.

The rocket (like before) was very fresh and yummy. The warm smoked salmon and poached egg was perfect. But as I said, the real star here is Classified Cafe’s amazing homemade hash browns.

Macaroni and cheese [S$10.90]

Doesn’t this Mac and Cheese look AMAZING? When it arrived, I was pretty much in awe. The portion was soooo generous. (Trust me, the photos really don’t do justice to the real portions) I don’t think you can find as generous a serving of mac elsewhere in Singapore, and for a really good price!

The Mac and Cheese is great for sharing with family and friends, and the cheese is truly a lot – expect strings and strings of delicious cheesy goodness. You wouldn’t expect it, but this Classified Cafe Mac and Cheese makes for a really yummy breakfast! My favourite part was how the macaroni was evenly coated in mild, crispy cheesy bits. Yum. (I’m definitely drooling and hungry as I type this!)

CLASSIFIED 6

On a side note, the Sultan is full of greenery and beautiful, tall bamboo. You’ll feel as if you’ve been transported to Japan. The grounds of the hotel are really lush and perfectly serene.

CLASSIFIED 10

After a satisfying breakfast or brunch at Classified Cafe, you would probably be wondering to yourself, so what is there to do nearby?

CLASSIFIED 11

After all that breakfasting at Classified Cafe, you will want to walk off your meal with a stroll around Kampong Glam to experience the eclectic and vibrant side of Singapore.

Snap a photo of one of Singapore’s most prominent mosques, the Masjid Sultan. Found at Muscat Street, the picturesque mosque is one of Singapore’s oldest. Just take a moment to admire the golden architecture and facade. Fun fact: this place of worship can fit up to 5,000 people!

IMG_1218

For a quick history lesson on Singapore, jog over to the Malay Heritage Centre at Istana Kampong Glam to get a unique perspective of what life was like back in the good old days.

Shop Turkish lamps and beautiful authentic Persian rugs and a wide variety of traditional garments made from the finest silk in the small lanes of Kampong Glam.

For a bit of modernity, I recommend exploring The General Store, located at 38 Arab Street. The General Store is a minimal and independent local store featuring well-designed homegrown brands and much-loved international labels.

Do check out their wide array of watches, phone cases and sunglasses (which I love) from their very own home brand.

For coffee lovers, don’t forget to check out Artistry Cafe, Sexy Coffee and Krave. Besides these few, there are many more things to see and do in the Haji Lane vicinity after a yummy brunch at Classified Cafe.

Mosstachio

What I love about how technologically advanced we are today is how everything is so readily available online at a simple click of a button! And that includes flower arranging services.

There’s no longer a need to rush down to a florist or nursery located in the middle of nowhere to fulfill your needs for a special occasion.

Started out by two friends with a love for flowers, succulents and all things green, Mosstachio is a small online florist. Specialised in handling succulents, Mosstachio can tailor a bouquet or terrarium to suit to whatever specifications your heart so desires!

Mosstachio

Just hop onto Carousell and do a quick user search for ‘Mosstachio’ and presto! There you have it, you are now in touch with experienced florists who can help with arranging the perfect floral bouquet or terrarium. So easy!

Mosstachio also does terrarium workshops, so if you wanna make your event unforgettable, don’t forget to give them a ring. They’ll be happy to accommodate and be a part of the special day.

Mosstachio recently shared with me how much they enjoyed doing a workshop for little kids at a church event, and I could see how enthusiastic they were about it, and how much they enjoyed watching the imagination of the kids being turned into reality in their exciting terrarium creations.

But more about the succulent bouquets. These are perfect for anyone and everyone and for any occasion. Wedding bouquets, engagement proposals, birthday gifts, graduations, Mother’s Day, the list goes on!

Mosstachio

What I love about the succulent bouquets is that unlike ordinary floral bouquets, there’s something really special and unique about it.

I just love the contrast between the firm, hardy texture of the succulents and the feminine, delicate rose petals.

Mosstachio

And on top of that, while flowers in bouquets rarely last that long, the succulents in these bouquets can be re-potted. With proper care, the succulents will be able to survive for a long time! Personally, succulents are so adorable and I just like looking at them and admiring their beauty.

These succulents bouquets so perfect for everyone. Guy or girl, BFF, colleague, mother, boyfriend, future wife.

Mosstachio

As for my very own bouquet, what can I say? It was perfect, featuring bright red flowers, peachy romantic roses, and lovely succulents of different varieties!

Just look at the amazing colours and textures! I had so much fun taking photos and admiring how beautiful and fresh my bouquet from Mosstachio smelled! Plus, I can’t wait to start my very own succulent garden with all of these cute succulents.
