I’ve been eyeing Oasis Skin’s products on social media way before the recent launch of their website, so the moment the parcel arrived at my door step, I was beyond elated!

Oasis Skin is a Singapore skincare brand that recently launched in March 2018. Their masks and mists are all made in Singapore! They’ve incorporated lots of natural wild ingredients from France into their masks and mists, all of which are made in small batches! Each batch has its own unique batch number on the label. And speaking of labels, isn’t the lettering on their labels soooo gorgeous? (But I must warn you that the ink isn’t waterproof so keep it in a dry place away from your sink!)

The two products that I received from Oasis Skin were the Lavender and Sage Mist and the French Marine Clay + Ocean Vitamins Mask.

Oasis Skin Lavender and Sage Mist

Much like its namesake, this mist provides a surprising amount of hydration and is a real oasis for the face. In my opinion, the fragrance is a mix of flowery honey, essential oils, and relaxing lavender. I love how the bottle feels so weighted, and that the mist is so delicate and fine! It’s a refreshing change from the usual less fine water mists that I use.

I especially love spritzing this stuff all over my face before sleeping. If you have trouble falling asleep, I highly recommend this product to help you fall asleep instantly. There’s something about lavender that just relaxes you and makes you sleepy.

One other thing I really enjoy about this mist is that it provides adequate moisture to your face without making your face oily or hands greasy! Like really this is a godsend. Just a few spritzes of this stuff and you can go to sleep assured that your night time skin routine is taken care of.

The ingredients are absolutely fantastic as well. So if you’re interested in learning even more about this mist from Oasis Skin, please check out this LINK!

I 10/10 would recommend this lavender and sage mist to a friend and would replenish this product as soon as I’ve finished it!! ūüôā

Oasis Skin French Marine Clay + Ocean Vitamins Mask

Honestly I’m not sure what vitamins are in this clay mask, but I must say, this three-ingredient mask is AWESOME. Firstly, to find a product with so few ingredients that works really opens your eyes to the kinds of products on the market out there. Do they really need so many other preservatives? Well, the fact that this clay mask is in powder form makes it much longer lasting than your usual store-bought clay mask and I suppose less in need of all these preservatives.

The three ingredients found in this clay mask are: spirulina extract, seaweed and illite clay. Clay has tons of minerals and is super good for clearing up and soothing unhappy skin (read: breakouts and rogue baby pimples). As for spirulina, it’s great for your body, and often touted as a superfood because it’s a great source of Vitamins B and antioxidants! Seaweed offers hydration, and is said to have anti-aging properties.

After using this mask, I didn’t expect much because it applied quite thinly. But surprisingly enough, the clay in the mask kind of dried quickly and there was this kind of hugging sensation as it dried (which seemed to happen faster and more effectively compared to other clay masks I’ve tried). Further, it was so easy to wash off. The only slight drawback I felt was that the smell was a lil strong (like the sea) but it reminded me of my time in Hokkaido and it made me realise how natural this mask really is ūüôā And halfway through masking, the smell of the ocean kind of went away.

After using this clay mask, all of my pimples (both big and small) went away and my pores had shrunk visibly too. My skin felt a lot smoother and more supple as a result the next day! If you’re worried about clay masks drying out your skin, just spray the Lavender and Sage Mist to re-hydrate the skin ūüôā

Oasis Skin have a variety of really effective and natural masks and mists to choose from, so do give their new local business all the support it deserves! I actually really honestly like their products and packaging so much.

You can check out the clay mask: HERE!

Something I also just realised that is immensely helpful is that Oasis Skin have taken the trouble to include directions on how to use their clay masks on the website!

So if you ever purchase the mask and aren’t sure of the water to mask ratio to mix, the directions are as follows:

“Scoop¬†2 spoonfuls of mask powder out into a non-metal bowl and carefully add liquid to mix it into a paste. We recommend a 1:1 ratio of clay to liquid. Use the oasis:skin mask brush to apply the mask evenly onto your cleansed face and let it dry for 10-15 minutes. Gently wash it off with warm water and mist your face after to complete the treatment. For the ultimate treat, use your oasis:skin face mist liquid as a mask mixer to supercharge your mask therapy.”

Also, since Oasis Skin only just launched earlier this month, they are currently giving all customers 10% off. Hurrah!

Take advantage of this promotion and use OASIS10 at checkout.

Happy masking and misting friends!

I’ll admit it, it’s hardly ever a surprise to hear health food skeptics shake their heads and go, “Health food? That doesn’t sound right. That doesn’t sound particularly tasty. Or delicious.” Plenty of people will scoff and avoid health food like the plague. And so, Wild Butter Co. is here to challenge that perception.

Wild Butter Co. was conceived not too long ago, in late April 2016. These nut butters were born out of a need to satisfy these health-food skeptics and convince them, that hey, healthy food can be delicious yet nutritious! Plus, almond butter isn’t something that many people are super aware of, or familiar with.¬†People generally are familiar with peanut butters since they’re widespread and so readily available.

When it comes to snacking, many will resort to unhealthy snacking, like on Oreos and chocolate. But it can’t be good for us to be consuming so much processed snack foods, I’m sure many dieticians can attest to that. Wild Butter Co.¬†decided to solve this snack food crisis by bring together two things – delicious flavours that we’re familiar with, as well as a healthier, alternative spread that people could enjoy, and snack on!

Wild Butter Co. offers gourmet nut butters in six different flavours. All the nut butters are available on their website, www.wildbutterco.com. There are so many flavours to choose from that I decided to review all six of them, to give you an idea of what¬†Wild Butter Co.’s¬†wonderful nut butters tastes like!

Wild Butter Co.’s repertoire of gourmet spreads include: Cookies and Cream Peanut Butter, Matcha Milk Peanut Butter, Maple Cinnamon Almond Butter, Earl Grey Peanut Butter, Crunchy Kokoa Peanut Butter, and Honey Roasted Almond Butter.

Cookies and Cream Peanut Butter, $10.95 (250g)

First thing you wanna note about these nut butters (and this applies to all of them) is that they’re not smooth like the regular peanut butters that you see¬†in supermarkets. Being completely natural, these Wild Butter Co. nut butters aren’t of a completely smooth, buttery consistency like the processed peanut butters you get in stores. Wild Butter Co.’s nut butters don’t come with additional filler ingredients, like what you would find in peanut butter spreads, and due to their homemade quality, they will have a little crunch to it. But it’s not anything extreme, and as a smooth peanut butter lover, I can vouch that these spreads are still delicious and smooth with an occasional light crunch.

As for the Cookies and Cream Peanut Butter, it’s vegan-friendly, so everyone can eat it! Flavour-wise, it is mildly sweet, with bits of Oreo swirled inside the crunchy peanut butter. Mmmm! This is the perfect nut butter for Oreo lovers, and for people who like things not too sweet!

Earl Grey Peanut Butter, $14.95 (250g)

Wild Butter Co.

By far, this one’s my favourite. I definitely could eat this straight out of the jar, it’s just so good. I found this to be milder than the Matcha Milk flavour. Like the Matcha Milk Peanut Spread, the Earl Grey Peanut Butter contains white chocolate. The bergamot, earl grey flavour is very strong, and reminds me of macarons. There are lots of tiny black specks throughout the Earl Grey Peanut Butter spread, and they are actually earl grey tea leaves! While the flavour is mild, it’s really perfect, and you get a nice, soothing aroma of earl grey. This one’s sweeter compared to the other nut butters, but not to the extent that it’s unhealthy.

I think Wild Butter Co. has struck the perfect balance between the peanut butter flavour and the refined earl grey tea flavour. I love the rich aroma of earl grey in this spread, and you don’t see earl grey flavoured spreads very often! Perfect for fans of Earl Grey tea, and people who enjoy high tea or macarons.

Honey Roasted Almond Butter, $15.95 (250g)

Wild Butter Co.

This is Wild Butter Co.’s¬†most popular flavour, with 100% good reviews! With this nut butter, you have a combination of lovely roasted almonds, and raw honey. Wild Butter Co. explained to me the difference between raw honey, and normal honey. So what’s so great about raw honey? Regular honey is filtered and pasteurised, meaning that benefits like vitamins and antioxidants which are good for your skin and general health is lost. But with raw honey, it’s like the purest form – untreated, unfiltered, and all the goodness is kept in its most natural form. Flavour wise, raw honey has a much more complex flavour to it. You don’t get the sticky, plain sweetness of regular honey. Instead, you have raw honey which is milder in flavour, but so much better for you and your health.

I also had the chance to ask Wild Butter Co. if they were Halal, and they told me that while they aren’t Halal-certified, their nut butters are all plant-derived, or made from dairy products like skimmed milk.

Crunchy Kokoa Peanut Butter, $11.95 (250g)

Wild Butter Co.

This one is for fans of dark chocolate! The Crunchy Kokoa Peanut Butter has dark chocolate which isn’t too sweet and overpowering. Dark chocolate’s also great for your health, being beneficial for weight loss. And we all know how well digestive biscuits and chocolate go together. Wild Butter Co. wanted to add a little crunch to their spreads, so the biscuits provide that extra crunch to the peanut butter. I would recommend this one for people who are looking to try an alternative to Nutella and chocolate spreads! And especially if you¬†find Nutella a tad bit¬†too sweet. This one’s worth a try, being the best of both worlds, both chocolatey and nutty at the same time.

Cinnamon Maple Almond Butter, $15.95 (250g)

Wild Butter Co.

This one’s another great almond butter. Almonds, compared to peanuts, are packed with way more vitamins! You get this awesome roasted almond flavour with this spread. This one is popular with both the young and old, and some customers purchase this for their mums and dads. The Cinnamon Maple Almond Butter is great for those who like Speculoos, as the taste is quite similar. Wild Butter Co. has made this almond butter with agave nectar (the sap from cactus) as a natural sweetener, and they’ve also put in pure maple syrup, none of that artificial, fake maple syrup. So it’s all natural goodness in a jar, and free from artificial flavours!

Matcha Milk Peanut Spread, $14.95 (250g)

Wild Butter Co.

Matcha has tonsss of health benefits! And the matcha they use in these Wild Butter Co. matcha spreads come straight from Kyoto, Japan. Unlike the Korean Green Tea Milk Spreads which are very sweet and made with vegetable oil, this Matcha Milk Peanut Butter is less sweet, and it’s still very much a peanut butter, so do expect a tinge of peanut butter. This Wild Butter Co. spread is a healthier alternative to Korean green tea spreads, and is bursting with matcha flavour. The matcha spread contains white chocolate, and it’s great for people who are adventurous with their food and like trying out new food products. The flavour is kind of intense, (in a good way) and this matcha spread is an affordable, healthier alternative to the expensive Korean spreads, while still containing quality ingredients and the benefits of matcha!

There are so many ways to eat these Wild Butter Co. gourmet spreads! You can spread it thickly on toast for breakfast, drizzle it over pancakes or crepes, use them in smoothies, eat them with freshly cut fruit or overnight oats. You can even bake it with macarons, cookies, cakes (matcha peanut butter lava cake, anyone?), croissants. Eat the spread with crackers, or if you’re lazy like me, eat it straight from the jar as a snack. The possibilities are endless!

All these Wild Butter Co. spreads are made in Singapore, and they’re a great way to support locally made products. Most of these flavours don’t exist elsewhere, and it’s actually really convenient to order from Wild Butter Co. These gourmet spreads are a healthy and suitable alternative to your regular peanut butters, hazelnut and chocolate spreads you can get in stores. Also, they’re completely guilt-free, and you can eat them with anything and everything. So it’s definitely something new worth trying! ūüôā

To get your very own jars of Wild Butter Co. gourmet nut butter, click here! I’ld recommend getting two flavours or more to try! Oh yeah, and don’t forget to store your gourmet spreads in a cool, non-refrigerated place. So you can eat it whenever you want! ūüôā

Handmade in small batches, Suga Lush is dedicated to making these beautiful smelling, all natural shower products that revitalises the senses after a long day.

It’s pretty obvious but I think living in a city has resulted in¬†being constantly exposed to grubby air, constantly having to be on the ball and on top of things, and always having some pressing message or email or urgent phone call to reply! So for me, shower time is my time away from my responsibilities, from the hectic chaos, aka life, and a quiet time I have all to myself to really do absolutely nothing and enjoy it.

SAMSUNG CSC

As someone who really treasures showers, I love how these¬†lovely Suga Lush soaps bring me a sense of calm in the shower. It’s just so nice to relax and unwind for a while!

Vetiver & Grapefruit Body Soap

This colourful Suga Lush soap really surprised me, despite the bright orangey hues, and the fact it contains moisturising honey, this soap is anything but artificial or fruity smelling.

What you have here is a really earthy, vetiver soap. This cool, vibrant soap is perfect if you like woody, spicy, or musky scents!

The rich, creamy lather in this bar will have you feeling brand new and clean. The fragrance is pretty gender-neutral and I can’t help but admire the pretty whirls in this¬†unique Suga Lush¬†soap!

Not that long ago, someone asked me for a recommendation for brunch places in Singapore.

At that point in time, I couldn’t think of an answer.

After visiting 101 Jalan Sultan, I’ve finally found it – Classified Cafe!

SAMSUNG CSC

Located at The Sultan Hotel, Classified Cafe is a great place to have a hearty Sunday brunch with the family.

The Sultan Hotel is a gorgeous, traditional white Singapore townhouse, a globetrotter’s dream stay. The hotel is also notably well preserved from a bygone era.

On the pristine white walls are framed “before and after” renovation photographs capturing the beauty of the timeless¬†building.

The majestic Sultan Hotel is quite unlike any other in Singapore.

SAMSUNG CSC

Considering it has 64 guest rooms with no two rooms alike, The Sultan is bigger than it looks!

Great for staycationers and tourists alike, the ambiance and decor of the whole place is impressive and the epitome of class.

I would definitely put it down on my list of staycation-worthy hotels¬†in Singapore. Y’know, for a temporary¬†air ticket-free getaway from reality.

Classified Cafe kindly invited me down for a food tasting session one weekend, and spoiled me silly with their numerous breakfast options.

I decided to sit in the lobby where there was plenty of sunshine, and really beautiful furniture I wish I could bring home! (The acacia table was my favourite.)

Classified Cafe really ticked all of the boxes with their food, impeccable service, and dining atmosphere.

CLASSIFIED 12

Let’s have a peek at their brunch menu! (Honestly, if I could I would order everything…)

CLASSIFIED 13

Classified Cafe let me try out their Eggs on Cloud and Eggs Benedict with Smoked Salmon & Avocado.

I also ordered Mac and Cheese and a vanilla milkshake. The staff were happy to customise my milkshake order, which was very nice of them!

I really liked the presentation of the Eggs on Cloud. Don’t the eggs look like little clouds? The slate plating was¬†also very cool.

Taste-wise, the eggs on cloud was really fluffy, airy and delicious. Kind of how you would imagine a savoury cloud to taste like.

The slight sweetness of the brioche was a nice, welcome change from the typical plain white toasted bread you get at coffeeshops. As for the bed of rocket salad hidden beneath the eggs on cloud, it was really fresh and full of a mild spicy flavour.

Eggs Benedict with Smoked Salmon and Avocado [S$14.90]
Poached egg, smoked salmon, homemade hashbrown, avocado, red and yellow cherry tomatoes, rocket, hollandaise sauce

SAMSUNG CSC

To me, the highlight of this breakfast dish was the HASH BROWNS. I’ve never had hash browns this amazing in my life before. I couldn’t stop eating and the addiction to the hash browns was real. If there was one reason to come back to Classified Cafe, the crispy, flavourful hash browns would be the answer!

The avocado wasn’t soft and ripe and instead quite crunchy. But this happens to the best of us I guess! Like for example, the other day the avocado I prepared at home for guacamole turned out to be unevenly ripe.

The rocket (like before) was very fresh and yummy. The warm smoked salmon and poached egg was perfect. But as I said, the real star here is Classified Cafe’s amazing homemade¬†hash browns.

Doesn’t this Mac and Cheese look AMAZING? When it arrived, I was pretty much in awe. The portion was soooo generous. (Trust me, the photos really don’t do justice to the real portions) I don’t think you can find as generous¬†a serving of mac elsewhere in Singapore, and for a really good price!

The Mac and Cheese is great for sharing with family and friends, and the cheese is truly a lot – expect strings and strings of delicious cheesy goodness. You wouldn’t expect it, but this Classified Cafe Mac and Cheese makes for a really yummy breakfast! My favourite part was how the macaroni was evenly coated in mild, crispy cheesy bits. Yum. (I’m definitely drooling and hungry as I type this!)

On a side note, the Sultan is full of greenery and beautiful, tall bamboo. You’ll feel as if you’ve been transported to Japan. The grounds of the hotel are really lush and perfectly serene.

CLASSIFIED 10

After a satisfying breakfast or brunch at Classified Cafe, you would probably be wondering to yourself, so what is there to do nearby?

CLASSIFIED 11

After all that breakfasting at Classified Cafe, you will want to walk off your meal with a stroll around Kampong Glam to experience the eclectic and vibrant side of Singapore.

Snap a photo of one of Singapore’s most prominent mosques, the Masjid Sultan. Found at Muscat Street, the picturesque mosque is one of Singapore’s oldest. Just take a moment to admire the golden architecture and facade. Fun fact: this place of worship can fit up to 5,000 people!

IMG_1218

For a quick history lesson on Singapore, jog over to the Malay Heritage Centre at Istana Kampong Glam to get a unique perspective of what life was like back in the good old days.

Shop Turkish lamps and beautiful authentic Persian rugs and a wide variety of traditional garments made from the finest silk in the small lanes of Kampong Glam.

For a bit of modernity, I recommend exploring The General Store, located at 38 Arab Street. The General Store is a minimal and independent local store featuring well-designed homegrown brands and much-loved international labels.

Do check out their wide array of watches, phone cases and sunglasses (which I love) from their very own home brand.

For coffee lovers, don’t forget to check out Artistry Cafe, Sexy Coffee and Krave. Besides these few, there are many more things to see and do in the Haji Lane vicinity after a yummy brunch at Classified Cafe.

What I love about how technologically advanced we are today is how everything is so readily available online at a simple click of a button! And that includes flower arranging services.

There’s no longer a need to rush down to a florist or nursery located in the middle of nowhere to fulfill your needs for a special occasion.

Started out by two friends with a love for flowers, succulents and all things green, Mosstachio is a small online florist. Specialised in handling succulents, Mosstachio can tailor a bouquet or terrarium to suit to whatever specifications your heart so desires!

Mosstachio

Just hop onto Carousell and do a quick user search for ‚ÄėMosstachio‚Äô and presto! There you have it, you are now in touch with experienced florists who can help with arranging the perfect floral bouquet or terrarium. So easy!

Mosstachio also does terrarium workshops, so if you wanna make your event unforgettable, don’t forget to give them a ring. They’ll be happy to accommodate and be a part of the special day.

Mosstachio recently shared with me how much they enjoyed doing a workshop for little kids at a church event, and I could see how enthusiastic they were about it, and how much they enjoyed watching the imagination of the kids being turned into reality in their exciting terrarium creations.

But more about the succulent bouquets. These are perfect for anyone and everyone and for any occasion. Wedding bouquets, engagement proposals, birthday gifts, graduations, Mother’s Day, the list goes on!

Mosstachio

What I love about the succulent bouquets is that unlike ordinary floral bouquets, there’s something really special and unique about it.

I just love the contrast between the firm, hardy texture of the succulents and the feminine, delicate rose petals.

Mosstachio

And on top of that, while flowers in bouquets rarely last that long, the succulents in these bouquets can be re-potted. With proper care, the succulents will be able to survive for a long time! Personally, succulents are so adorable and I just like looking at them and admiring their beauty.

These succulents bouquets so perfect for everyone. Guy or girl, BFF, colleague, mother, boyfriend, future wife.

Mosstachio

As for my very own bouquet, what can I say? It was perfect, featuring bright red flowers, peachy romantic roses, and lovely succulents of different varieties!

Just look at the amazing colours and textures! I had so much fun taking photos and admiring how beautiful and fresh my bouquet from Mosstachio¬†smelled! Plus, I can’t wait to start my very own succulent garden with all of these cute succulents.
